AAA Teams

Breakaway Hockey AAA Programs

Breakaway Hockey AAA programs are all about specific training to develop core hockey skills.  We focus on individual skills to ensure our players show significant improvement in skating, shooting, stick handling and passing.  Like anything in life, players will get out of it what they put into it.  We will push players to go beyond their comfort level to improve and prepare for the next level.

"It’s not necessarily the amount of time you spend at practice that counts; it’s what you put into the practice."

- Eric Lindros

On Ice Skills Training Program

Players will skate 3 times a week for 12 weeks with  a heavy focus on individual skill development.  On ice session will be overseen by Jessie Willis and our talented, experienced coaching staff that will be leading on and off ice sessions.  We created a model called T.A.G.U.P. hockey that is designed to ensure success for players of all ages and experience.  This model is used to prepare students for the upcoming regular season and future play .  It consists of 5  focus points to ensure fun and improve personal player ability and growth on and off the ice.

  • TEAM:  Working together, team play, supporting one another, & learning habits of your teammates to improve on-ice play
  • AGILITY:  Edge work, puck control, stick handling,  passing, shooting, scoring, small area battling, & more
  • GROWTH:  Personal skills, building character & learning respect for players, coaches, refs, and others, both on and off the ice
  • UNDERSTANDING:  Knowledge of the game in general, rules of hockey and why they exist, how to play responsible hockey to keep everyone safe and having fun
  • POSITION:  Where each player should be on the ice, how it affects the success of the play,  knowing where other players should be, & a small amount of time is dedicated to systems in the offensive/defensive zones

Dryland Training Program

Students will train off ice for 1 hour, one to two times a week in the spring and summer.  Dryland will consist of plyometrics, agility training and strength.  The program is to improve quickness, strength and agility, which will make players faster and stronger on the ice.
